Most cars now have a coded immobiliser system. The ignition keys contain a chip with a unique electronic code that matches a code in the Engine Management system and is checked every time the car is started. If the code does not match then the car will not start. If the keys are lost the owner is faced with a major and expensive problem. Make sure you have a 'spare' key. If the 'only' key is lost in some cases the entire Engine Management system will have to be changed. We can duplicate keys up to about year 2000 (GO HERE) and in some cases we can do this by post (working original is required).
If you need a combination key/remote then most of these require programming at the vehicle and may be Dealer only
