 This is the Lucas 17VT security ECU shown attached to its bracket and is located either above the drivers pedals or above the passenger foot well. See below.

We will need this unit in order to program fobs if your system is 'armed'. The system frequency is also marked on the white label on the unit

A new handset will require programming to the vehicle's alarm system using the following procedure:
                                                           
NOTE: Assistance will be required and alarm must be in disarmed state
Open bonnet, assistant to depress bonnet switch. Then get into the vehicle and shut door do not lock, ignition off.
 Carry out instructions 1 to 7 within 5 seconds (faster the better).
 1) Switch ignition ON
2) Switch ignition OFF
3) Lock doors (using sill buttons)
4) Unlock doors (using sill buttons)
5) Release bonnet switch.
6) Switch ignition ON
7) Switch ignition OFF.
 
If alarm is correctly accessed, horn will sound and LED will light. It is now possible to programme the new handset.
NOTE: A maximum of two handsets can be programmed.
 
 Carry out instructions 8 to 10 within 2 minutes.
 8) Press and HOLD down button on first handset until dashboard LED flashes.
9) Repeat instruction 8 for second handset.
10) The LED will extinguish if both handsets have been installed correctly.        
 
NOTE: If only one handset is programmed after instruction 8 turn ignition ON and OFF to finalise programming.
